I Need a Hero! | My Pregnancy Superheroes!

As I’m nearing the end of pregnancy number 2, I thought I would share with you some wonderful items that i’ve been using throughout the last 9 months that have been a godsend to me!

GET SUPPORT WITH THE SITTINGWELL CUSHION

I can’t tell you how good it feels to be properly supported!  I’ve been using the Sittingwell® Cushion throughout my pregnancy and it’s an absolute dream!

It gives me great lower-back support when sitting on my sofa (my sofa is quite deep, and so you can end up sitting in some awkward positions!  Not great for your back, and especially not great when you’re pregnant and getting bigger and bigger each day).  So having this cushion as support was fantastic.

The Sittingwell Cushion fits inside a 45cm x 45cm cushion cover, so you can keep it fitting in with your usual style (what a great excuse to go shopping).

Support cushions are generally quite drab, so it was nice to be able to just pop it into a cushion cover that I would usually pick to suit my front room.

You can choose from a polyester filling, or a duck feather filling.  I chose duck feather, and it’s really rather lovely.  One side of the cushion is firm, and the other is soft, so you really do feel like you’re getting the best of both worlds.

My little boy loves this cushion too!  He doesn’t quite use it in the same way as me (more like pulling it off the sofa and standing on it!) but it’s testament to how durable a product is when it can be manhandled by a toddler!

I really can’t recommend this cushion enough!  You can purchase it now from www.sittingwell.co.uk

EXTEND YOUR BRA!bra extender

It was only when I was chatting to a friend of mine about bra sizes that I found out that your rib cage actually expands when you’re pregnant, so even if you think that you haven’t put any weight on around the back, you probably have.

It’s mind-boggling the things that happen to your body when you’re pregnant… i’m in an almost constant state of amazement at what my body can do/is going through!  Haha.

It’s definitely worth buying some bra extenders. They’re really cheap on Amazon and will make a massive difference to your comfort levels

KEEP MOISTURISED

I didn’t get any stretchmarks in my first pregnancy… I used Bio Oil religiously and was very keen to point out that it must indeed have been that that helped.  Now I’m not so sure.  I haven’t used a single drop of it this time round (risky!) but have instead continued to use my usual in shower moisturiser from Nivea and I must say that – *touch wood* – I haven’t had any stretch marks this time round either.  So make of that what you will!  My best advice – keep moisturised!  The Nivea one is great if you’re a bit lazy like me and can’t be bothered to moisturise post-shower.

HOUSEWORK HERO

The WISP is the ultimate housework hero!  Toddlers create a lot of mess. A LOT.  Add a large pregnancy belly (and all the exhaustion etc that comes with it!) to the mix, and well… why not find a way of making life easier for yourself?  Who wants to be on their hands and knees sweeping up with a teeny tiny dustpan and brush when there is a much easier solution!

Unlike a heavy traditional broom, the WISP is ultra lightweight so it’s easy to use with just one hand.  It is designed to work on all surfaces, inside and outside—including wood, tile, marble and carpet. And there’s no need to exert excess pressure, as it’s so sensitive.

You can make the handle as long or as short as you need so it’s comfortable for you!  And you just need to lightly step on the dustpan to keep it in place, reducing the amount of time you spend on the floor!

This has made things so much easier for me with the day-to-day running of the house.  Keeping things clean and tidy whilst all the while putting less pressure on my back.  It’s just wonderful!

You can purchase the WISP from  Amazon.co.uk.  You won’t regret it!

What are your pregnancy superheroes??
