Taking advantage of the free dental care that is offered to all pregnant women
Taking advantage of the free dental care that is offered to all pregnant women (god bless the NHS!), I went to the dentist for the first time in over 5 years a couple of weeks ago. After looking as my teeth, she let me know that I needed a load of fillings and a root canal! I can’t have the full root canal until after Baby B is here (because I need to have an X Ray) however she said she could remove the nerve (and therefore take away the pain) and put a temporary filling in. So that’s what I had done yesterday!
It was nice having the baby moving around whilst it was happening (although I’m sure Baby B wondered what the hell was going on! Haha) and it took my mind off of the drilling. No pain at all (apart from now that the numbness has worn off). And I’ll be back again for the fillings. So my advice to all pregnant women is to definitely take advantage of the free dental care. Even if you’re scared of the dentist, I’ll be good practice of not being scared when you have to take your little one for a check up!
