You know what it’s like; you get an invitation to a party and you immediately think “ooh, what am I going to wear??”  You’re full of excitement about going out and buying a new dress for the occasion!  Even though you have lots of dresses, it’s exciting to go out and buy something new…

I have found that invitations have dried up somewhat since I had my little boy and started my own business (not being in that “pint after work” circle anymore!) so when you do get invited
somewhere, there’s still the excitement, but it’s tinged with a wave of anxiousness!  And when you’re heavily pregnant, your feelings about being invited out changes somewhat!  You still worry about what you’re going to wear, but it’s a different kind of worry.  None of your old dresses fit you, and nice dresses for the heavily pregnant are few and far between!

So I was thrilled to discover Bump It Up Maternity.  They have a fantastic range of clothing catering for sizes 16 – 36.  The range includes super-soft jersey separates and easy-to-wear silhouettes that flatter your growing bump and compliment your curves.  I was straight on the site looking at the dresses!

When my event came around (my cousin’s engagement party) I decided to wear the gorgeous Black Lace Sleeved Skater Dress With Ribbon Tie from Bump It Up Maternity

It was a tricky choice to make with so many flattering dresses available!  I felt that this one gave me the coverage I needed; a gorgeous black all over lace dress with 3/4 sleeves. It has a soft jersey under-layer and black ribbon tie to the waist, which I could tighten/loosen as I wanted.  I felt incredibly glamorous; no mean feat when you’re nearly 8 months pregnant!  And although I wasn’t tearing up the dancefloor like my cousin (hard to dance too much when you’re waddling!), I still had a great time and felt confident and happy.
